If you have been offered admission by your institution to study a different course from the one you originally applied for, there is an important step you should not ignore.
You May Need to Process a Change of Course on the JAMB Portal
For example, if you initially applied to study Computer Science but your institution offers you admission to study Statistics, you should visit a JAMB-accredited CBT centre to process the necessary Change of Course on the JAMB portal.
This is important because your JAMB records need to reflect the new course before JAMB can officially process and offer you admission for that course.
Why Is Change of Course Important?
Your institution's admission and JAMB's admission are not exactly the same thing.
A school may offer you admission into a particular course, but your admission must also be properly reflected and offered through the JAMB system.
If the course offered by your institution differs from the course currently reflected on your JAMB profile, failing to regularise the course through the appropriate JAMB process may cause problems with your admission.
It can also affect your ability to print your JAMB Admission Letter, because the admission letter must correspond with the admission officially offered through JAMB.
Don't Ignore a Different Course Offered by Your School
If your institution offers you a course different from the one you originally chose, do not simply assume that the school admission is enough.
Visit a JAMB-accredited CBT centre and ask them to check your JAMB profile and process the appropriate Change of Course where necessary.
Also, make sure you monitor your JAMB CAPS regularly to confirm whether JAMB has officially offered you admission.

Your admission should be properly reflected on the JAMB portal and officially offered by JAMB.
School admission alone is not the same as JAMB admission.
