Prospective candidates preparing for the 2027 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) have been advised to confirm their subject combinations before completing their JAMB registration to avoid admission complications.
The advice was contained in an educational guide shared under the JAMB Explained series, which highlighted the importance of selecting the correct subjects for candidates' preferred courses.
According to the guidance, choosing the wrong UTME subject combination could affect a candidate's eligibility for admission, even after obtaining a good examination score.
Candidates have therefore been encouraged to understand the subject requirements for their intended programmes before proceeding with registration.
JAMB 2027: Why Correct Subject Combination Matters
The UTME subject combination is an important part of the admission process because candidates are expected to register for subjects that meet the requirements of their chosen courses.
Prospective candidates who select inappropriate subjects could encounter difficulties during admission consideration.
The guidance emphasised that candidates should not make assumptions about the subjects required for their preferred programmes.
Instead, they should confirm the approved requirements before completing their registration.
How To Check JAMB 2027 Subject Combination
Candidates preparing for the 2027 UTME have been encouraged to verify their subject combinations through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board's Integrated Brochure and Syllabus System (IBASS).
The platform provides information to help candidates identify the appropriate UTME subjects for their preferred courses.
Candidates can visit:
IBASS Official Website: ibass.jamb.gov.ng
They are advised to check the requirements for their intended programmes before selecting their examination subjects.
Candidates Advised To Prepare Early
The guidance also encouraged prospective candidates to begin making important admission decisions before registration activities commence.
Candidates should identify their preferred courses, understand the admission requirements and confirm their subject combinations ahead of time.
The educational guide further encouraged candidates to share the information with other prospective UTME candidates to help them avoid mistakes during registration.
