Nigerian-American registered nurse Bukola Akinpelu, popularly known as Nurse Sugar, has spoken about some of the challenges she experienced during her previous marriage, including disagreements and personal issues that arose during the relationship.
She made the disclosure during an interview with Ifedayo Agoro, where she reflected on her experiences and some of the difficulties she faced while married.
Nurse Sugar said her former husband repeatedly made requests for threesomes during their intimate moments.
“I would say if we got intimate 10 times, he would ask 9.5 times,” she said.
She explained that she often agreed to the requests because she felt refusing would prolong the discussion.
“I would say yes every time that he asked. But because there was no means. Because if I didn’t say yes, it would keep going,” she said.
According to her, the matter usually came up during intimate encounters rather than being discussed separately as an issue in the relationship.
Nurse Sugar Recalls Traditional Wedding Experience
Nurse Sugar also described her traditional wedding as one of the most difficult experiences she went through during the marriage.
“Of every day that I’ve been humiliated in the relationship, my traditional wedding day, nothing tops it,” she said.
She added that some vendors who attended the ceremony later contacted her and told her that they had witnessed what happened.
The nurse also addressed an altercation involving her former husband, admitting that she once held him by his shirt during a confrontation but maintained that she did not hit him.
She further alleged that her former husband frequently insulted her parents, saying she eventually responded by making similar comments about his family.
“So if you say, ‘This and this is your mom,’ I’ll say, ‘This and this is your mom as well,’” she said.
