AAPOLY: Forms of Indecent Dressing and the Corresponding Sanctions


Students of Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic (AAPOLY), Ijebu-Igbo have been reminded of the institution's rules regarding acceptable dressing on campus.

A notice from the Directorate of Students' Affairs, Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic, Ijebu-Igbo, lists various forms of dressing considered indecent and states the corresponding sanction for each offense.

According to the notice, the listed offenses attract one (1) semester suspension.

FORMS OF INDECENT DRESSING AT AAPOLY

The following forms of dressing are listed on the notice:

1. Braless, Backless or Sleeveless Dressing

Students are prohibited from dressing in ways classified under braless, backless or sleeveless dressing.

Sanction: One (1) semester suspension.

2. Tattered, Crazy or Dirty Jeans

Wearing jeans described as tattered, crazy or dirty is listed as an offence.

Sanction: One (1) semester suspension.

3. Micro-Mini Skirt or Micro-Mini Dress

Students are expected to avoid micro-mini skirts and micro-mini dresses.

Sanction: One (1) semester suspension.

4. Crop Top, Jumpsuit or Leggings

The notice lists the wearing of crop tops, jumpsuits and leggings among the forms of dressing classified as indecent.

Sanction: One (1) semester suspension.

5. Wearing of Crocs or Slides

The notice also lists the wearing of Crocs or slides as an offence.

Sanction: One (1) semester suspension.

6. Wearing of Unconventional Cowries or Beads

Students are advised against wearing unconventional cowries or beads.

Sanction: One (1) semester suspension.

7. Wearing of Unconventional Face-Caps or Berets

Unconventional face-caps or berets are also included among the listed forms of indecent dressing.

Sanction: One (1) semester suspension.

8. Wearing of Ear Rings by Male Students

Male students are specifically warned against wearing earrings.

Sanction: One (1) semester suspension.

9. Wearing of Nose Rings by Female Students

The notice lists the wearing of nose rings by female students as an offence.

Sanction: One (1) semester suspension.

10. Unconventional Tattoo and Body Piercing

Unconventional tattoos and body piercings are also listed.

Sanction: One (1) semester suspension.

11. Sagging, Baggy or Sloppy Jeans

Students are expected to avoid sagging, baggy or sloppy jeans.

Sanction: One (1) semester suspension.

12. Unconventional Hairstyles by Male Students

Male students are expected to avoid unconventional hairstyles, including plaiting, tinting, dreadlocks and palm rolling, as listed on the notice.

Sanction: One (1) semester suspension.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO AAPOLY FRESHERS

For newly admitted students preparing to resume at Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic, understanding the institution's rules is an important part of adjusting to campus life.

Freshers should not wait until they are sanctioned before learning about the Polytechnic's expectations regarding dressing and general student conduct.

Students are encouraged to dress appropriately and comply with the rules and regulations of the institution.
