A youth group affiliated with the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Renewed Hope for Youth Development and Empowerment Initiative (RHYDEI), has announced plans to mobilise 10,000 young people across Nigeria as part of its campaign activities ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The group has also announced a target of 20 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu across Nigeria's 774 local government areas.
RHYDEI unveiled its mobilisation plan during the launch of the initiative in Abuja on Sunday, September 27, 2026.
RHYDEI Plans 10,000 Youth Ambassadors
Speaking at the event, RHYDEI President, Abayomi Odediran, said the organisation would establish trained youth ambassadors across the country.
According to Odediran, the ambassadors will engage with Nigerians in communities, markets and on social media platforms to communicate what the group describes as the achievements of the Tinubu administration.
He said the organisation intends to establish a presence across the country's 774 local government areas.
“We shall take Renewed Hope to every ward in the 774 LGAs. From Sokoto to Bayelsa, from Borno to Lagos,” Odediran said.
Group Sets 20 Million Vote Target
RHYDEI said its proposed 20 Million Youth Votes Project will form part of its mobilisation strategy for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Odediran said the group was prepared to work towards securing 20 million votes for the President across the country.
The target is a stated objective of the organisation and does not represent an actual election result or an independent forecast of the 2027 election.
The group said its mobilisation activities would extend from grassroots communities to online platforms.
One Million Youths Targeted for Empowerment Programmes
Beyond electoral mobilisation, RHYDEI said it plans to work with Federal Government agencies to facilitate access to skills acquisition programmes, grants and loans for young Nigerians.
Odediran said the initiative intends to help at least one million youths benefit from such programmes before the 2027 election.
“We will show them that Renewed Hope is working,” he said.
The group said the proposed programmes would form part of its broader youth development and empowerment agenda.
RHYDEI Launches National Structure
Reports on the launch indicate that RHYDEI inaugurated its national structure and state-level coordinators as part of its plans to build a nationwide youth mobilisation network.
The Guardian reported that the initiative has the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, as its National Chairman, alongside zonal leadership structures across the country.
The organisation's launch comes amid increasing political mobilisation by groups supporting different candidates and parties ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Other pro-Tinubu groups have also announced their own mobilisation targets. For example, a Forum of Chief Executive Officers of Federal Parastatals recently announced a target of 10 million votes for Tinubu.
Youth Mobilisation Intensifies Ahead of 2027
The RHYDEI announcement adds to the growing number of political mobilisation activities taking place ahead of the 2027 general election.
The group's stated strategy combines youth organisation, grassroots engagement, social media communication and proposed economic empowerment programmes.
RHYDEI says it will continue its activities across wards and local government areas as it works towards its stated 20 million-vote target for President Tinubu.
