The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially released the results of the 2025 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) for internal candidates, bringing an end to weeks of anticipation by candidates, parents, and schools across the country.
According to NECO’s Registrar, the examination recorded a total of 1,367,210 candidates registered, out of which 1,358,339 sat for the examination. Out of this number, 1,269,564 candidates obtained five credits and above irrespective of English Language and Mathematics, representing 84.26% of those who sat for the examination.
In a breakdown of performance, 818,101 candidates — representing 60.26% — obtained five credits and above including English Language and Mathematics, which are core requirements for admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions. This marks an encouraging improvement when compared to the previous year’s performance.
The Registrar further disclosed that NECO has intensified measures to ensure transparency, credibility, and integrity in its examination processes. He commended stakeholders for their support in ensuring the successful conduct of the 2025 SSCE Internal examinations.
Candidates can now access their results through the official NECO result portal (https://results.neco.gov.ng) using their examination numbers and NECO tokens. The Council also provided SMS and offline result-checking options for easier access in areas with limited internet connectivity.
The release of the 2025 SSCE Internal results marks another milestone for NECO in its mandate to deliver reliable assessment and certification of students in Nigeria, while also playing a crucial role in determining the academic progression of secondary school leavers across the country.
